Julie grew up experiencing psychological abuse, exposure to mental illness, and sexual assault. She retreated into the shadows of her mind, each day a shame battle that nearly took her life. She came to see me as a therapist after a suicide attempt and hospitalization. She was healing and growing in therapy! She started to see how she is lovable. Soon she started working part time in food service serving others. Yet shortly after, she lost her state health insurance due to earning just above the income threshold and was left vulnerable to her mental condition without therapy; she even lost coverage for needed psychiatric medications. She called asking for help a month later. How could I (Kaleigh) turn her away?
I simply couldn’t bring myself to turn her away... Since that time she and I meet regularly every two weeks and she has been able to maintain her growth - and her life. I'm so proud of her for not giving up!

Hector's parents reached out to me on behalf of their son. He had recently been in trouble with the law and had previously considered suicide. His home life had been highly stressful since age 8. They sought a therapist with my expertise given their unique family situation. Despite the want to help their son, they had to make the decision between putting food on the table, or paying for therapy.
They came asking for help. There's no way you turn away a young man ready for help.
Since engaging in therapy and being committed to his goals and dreams, Hector has since graduated High School and a trade program. He's alive and continuing to move forward in his life - he's a brilliant soul and loves Jesus!

Lisa's entire life was dusted with complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. She had been beaten, starved, sexually assaulted, and survived the loss of her family taken by tragedy. Because of her pain, she often feared people and kept very quiet. People didn't know she actually wanted to engage with them. This held her back from the sense of belonging she longed for.
Lisa had experienced traditional therapy over the years without success. Soon she found her way to equine therapy... It was a perfect fit! She felt safe with animals and getting to work with a horse also healing from PTSD was just what she needed. Her smile was from ear to ear! She had insurance however it would not cover the care she needed for specialty equine therapy. We ensured she had access to six weeks of equine therapy. And wouldn't you know it, she did phenomenal! Her and the horse 😉
