Shine His Light is a practice and platform providing exceptional trauma therapy rooted in the love of God. It exists to create a safe place for the lost and hurting while expanding access to care for individuals who cannot afford it.
Because the need is urgent. In Arizona alone, hundreds of thousands of individuals need mental health support but cannot access care due to cost. Shine His Light exists to close that gap — bringing healing, dignity, and hope. But more than that — it helps bring people closer to Jesus. Learn more about the urgent problem SHL is solving→
Both. Shine His Light operates as a clinical practice while also functioning as a ministry — guided by a calling to serve, restore, and care for people through the love of Jesus.
The lost, hurting and the brokenhearted. We specialize in trauma. We often serve: youth and families, veterans and first responders, individuals recovering from abuse, addiction, or crisis. *we are currently on waitlist until fully funded and can hire additional therapists.
We offer: trauma therapy, equine healing experiences, a platform for trauma education, and in the future a brain injury treatment program (neural coaching). Each service is designed to address trauma in the mind, body, and spirit.
For individual therapy we accept UHC, AZ Blue, Aetna, Banner Aetna, EAPs, ESA, Cigna, and UHC Duals AHCCCS. Insurance does not cover some services and many of those we serve do not have insurance due to cost.
This is why Shine His Light exists. Through our scholarship fund, we provide trauma therapy to individuals who would otherwise go without care.
Yes! We offered over 200 trauma therapy sessions in 2025 on a scholarship basis. We would appreciate your support to continue supporting those in our care.
Scholarships and expanded care are made possible through: donors, philanthropic partners, and community support.
You can support the mission by giving financially. Your support helps expand access to trauma care, fund scholarships, and grow the reach of this work. You can give through our nonprofit partner (tax deductible) or directly to SHL.
Tax deductible donations are directed through our nonprofit partner, Broken Arrow Wranglers, and are earmarked specifically for Shine His Light. Funds support: trauma therapy scholarships, program expansion, and hiring additional practitioners.
Yes! Gifts can be offered through out Square terminal in person or via an online link. It's easy to support SHL. Send us a message and we will create a unique link and invoice for you to support SHL. We also accept checks sent to PO Box 551 Apache Junction, AZ 85117. These gifts are not a tax deductible gift yet are incredibly appreciated!
Yes. Our CEO & Founder received nationally recognized, cutting edge brain treatment that changed her life. The program that helped her is seeking to expand access to the low-income.
